Beauty Services

Last night, I was suppose to meet up with Joelle and her friend, Rachael for manicure and pedicure... Needless to say, I had to cancel the mani due to my accident... So I reached arrived at Sense of Nails at Soi Convent (Just opposite BNH hospital) at 16:30.

Joelle called and said they'll be quite late cos the Cab driver took them to a totally different place... (the cabbies here can be quite arrogant sometimes)... So I started my pedicure without them..  Since I had time to kill, I decided I should have some nail art on my Big Toe... I'm very satisfied with their service! Very careful and skilful and the price is very reasonable too~ not to mention the pretty pretty ambience...
An hour later and Joelle is still not here... Seems like they were also caught in a traffic jam plus the rain... (Their trip from Platinum Mall to Soi Convent was more than 1-1/2 hours. They decided not to beautify their nails cos we're all very hungry and Tiki was waiting for us to pick him up for dinner! =)

Anyway it started to rain and I had to get across the road to wait for my friends and driver... I was very worried about wetting my wound so I asked the manicurist if she has a plastic bag for me to wrap up my left hand... She said OORH~ and so I waited for about a minute then she came back with an umbrella! haha... She said it was alright for me to take it and take my time to return it... 3days or a week is ok!! Where in Singapore can you get this sort of service?!! And this was only my first visit to their salon!

Sense of Nails

Today, I asked Toig to throw away the beehoon I soaked yesterday and the shrimps in the fridge... Then she threw the bee hoon but said the shrimps still good... So she made Thai Fried Rice (with shrimp, eggs, ham, spring onions) !! Tiki came home for lunch too... It was quite yummy but a tinge too salty~

I also received a bouquet of flowers from Florence... So nice of her! It's really quite a huge bouquet... She called me yesterday to invite me to a party in August and I told her about my incident... haha... I didn't expect the flowers!! Very pretty!

Since I can no longer wash my hair for these couple of days, I decided to go over to Bangkok Club for Shampoo and Blow... I must say, I had a very good experience and deal today! Blow dry was standard procedure like the salons I went in Singapore... BUT the woman actually washed and massaged my scalp and hair with Shampoo 3 times!! Then she applied treatment to my hair! Pulling out strands by strands to apply the cream then wrapped my hair up for 10mins before washing... She also applied serum before blow-drying... All for the price of.... SGD7.60!!! Can you believe it?! Ok, i have to admit, I have a 50% OFF voucher, but then again, without the discount it's still quite cheap, right! I usually have my hair done in Singapore at least for SGD25 and the service isn't half as good... I'll be going back there at least 3 times a week for now... =)

Splendid Friday

Was woken up by a call at 9am this morning~ But i didn't pick up the call in time... So i laze around a little bit (30mins) before calling back... It was Florence asking me out for Lunch! She suggested Shin Taro at Four Seasons... Wooo~ How can i say no to Gourmet food? hehe... So we agreed to meet at 11.30am. Here's what we had... I must say, the food was... Fabulous! =)

My Ice-Lemon Tea
I thought it was really cool... Check out the Tea Ice cubes
The point is, i can blend the taste to my own liking by adding more english tea, lemon concentrate & syrup...
Wonderful!

Plain but impressive Zensai...
Broiled Chicken with Radish

Seafood Salad

Eel Maki wrapped with Avocado~
Need i say more??

Soft-shell crab Maki
Yes! I love soft-shell crab! Don't stop me!!

Teapot Soup with Scallop

Yaki Beef
It has to be well done! ARGH~ Nevertheless... still taste good!

Then we head over to Peninsular Hotel Shopping arcade where Florence introduced me to several of the shop owners... And I loved the shops! The accessories, furnishings, jewellery, paintings, etc, etc... Exquisite~! Anyway, we met Rudy who designed her own semi-precious stones jewellery. She showed me stuffs made out of elephant hair... VERY NICE!!

There's another impressive shop. The owner's husband is a painter/artist, that's why her shop is filled with paintings by husband... I love the style of the shop... lotsa knick knacks... messy yet classy~  I also got to see the REAL painting of her... She's a real beauty! Even now, at the age of 71, she looks fantastic... Flawless skin, full head of hair, nice posture and etiquette! I wanna be like her when i grow old! heehee~

This is a model made by her husband.
It's a mini replica of her husband's study at home while he was painting her...
Isn't it romantic? To enhance the level of romance, when you on the light in the "room",
the melody of Somewhere Over the Rainbow starts playing...
Aww~ I know...

Here's the Desk i fell in love with in the shop...
Can i have one? Pleassseee?? hee~ (SOLD OUT)

I also had my Mani & Pedi today... Not impressed but good enough... Cost me less than SGD20 for both services. The manicurist used Kaffir Lime to polish my fingers and toes... smells nice, kills bacterial and also has positive effects on nail, skin and hair. But the most surprising thing she did to help accelerate the drying process was......... USING HAIR DRYER! She practically kneeled in front of me for 20 minutes blow drying my nails!! Well, i still wasn't completely dry when i left the spa, so i sorta ruined a couple of nails.

Dinner at Hachi~ YES! Japanese Food again~

Teppanyaki~

Tiki had the King Prawn Teppanyaki Set with Sake

While I had Gyoza, Prawn Tempura & Yaki Soba

Bangkok Club

Yesterday was an Orientation Day at the Bangkok Club... I wasn't really impressed by the floor area tho there's a nice view. They've got spa facilities that includes nail and hair services, massage, gym, etc... But it's just sad that i am not able to utilize the massage services now~
A couple of restaurants there as well... We settled for Chinese dinner and the food was good! Especially i was craving for tofu with diced chicken and salted fish in claypot and sweet and sour pork again! Feels like Home~
I'll probably go try out the nail services tomorrow!
