Super Sunday

Wakey WAKEY, sleepy head!!
Love watching him sleep... So peaceful (if you know what mean... ha!)

We spent the whole morning in bed, watching marathon of "How I Met Your Mother" on Star World... Even had breakfast in bed... It was kinda nice to take it slow over the weekend...

Lunch at Secret Garden this afternoon... I've been craving for the Crepe Cake for the longest time, since my last visit!

Tiki and His not-so-adventurous Strawberry Short Cake

Me and My Yummy Crepe Cake

Tiki is busy preparing soup for tonight right now... It's going to be Old Cucumber Soup with Spare Ribs, Dried Scallop, Red Dates, etc... Sounds good? I sure hope it taste good, cos we are not able to find those really old cucumber we have in Singapore. We'll see~ I'll be making Brown rice, Stir-fried Choy Sum with Garlic, Pan-fried Saba (Mackerel) Fish and Shrimp and Onion Omelete... (All the nutrients Bao bao needs)

Had a lil chat earlier on with my Bestie... She is not doing too good~ I wish I could be there physically to pull her up from the hole she's in. It's not her fault and she deserve better, so much better... I'm not so worried about her hurting herself physically, but mentally, I sure hope she'll be strong and focus enough... I'm hundreds of miles away, but I'll be trying hard to make sure she goes thru the tough times... Don't be shy to call on me... "I'll be here or anywhere for you~ Hugs~" One day when she reads this, she'll be smiling and thinking how miraculously she'd recovered! I'm waiting for the day to come! =)

By the way, not everything is dirt cheap in BKK... It didn't take me long to realise that their imported goods were so much more expensive! I was checking out Medela Swing Breast Pump which costs S$336.90, whereas in Bangkok it costs a ridiculous S$440! I'll be looking forward to my Sept trip back home to buy all the necessary goods!

Have you heard of Fit Flops? Bet you did! But do you own a pair? I thought they were the ugliest pair of flip flops I've ever laid my eyes on... Guess what? Now, I actually own a pair! Guess again? I love it!! It's my life-saving pair of footwear right now... They're so comfy! Especially when my feet needs all the support they can get. I can literally walk for hours without feeling sore~ All my other footwears are now being chucked aside... Forget about prettiness... My Fit Flop is MY FIRST CHOICE! haha... (I sound like a salesman already...) Speaking of which, I got mine in Peddar Red in Singapore for S$125 whereas they are selling it at S$150~ in K Village here! So I Fit Flops are definitely going into my TO-GET LIST in September.

My Comfy Shoes

I'm surprised at the number or stores in K-Village (A new place in Sukhumvit Soi 26)... We went there for dinner and a walk last night... Reminds me of the design of Factory Outlets in Las Vegas and Osaka... Only it's not selling Factory Outlet stuffs... Anyone visiting Bangkok should go take a look... Pretty place... Many restaurants offering different types of cuisine too!
We chose to eat at a Chinese restaurant for some simple HK cuisine...

If you watched 食神, you'll notice the resemblance in this bowl of rice...
(They try to mimick the tear-jerking rice (黯然销魂饭) Stephen Chow made in the movie...
Sadly, Tiki didn't get he desired emotions with this bowl and YES! this one is with Salted Eggs~)

My Bowl of Boring Wonton Noodle Soup

Finally bought a gold chain for my wedding band too! I didn't know what is 23k (96.5% purity) gold until we went to the gold shop here~ Apparently, in Thailand, the gold they sell are all 23k. Well, it's just a lil less than 24k gold but better than 18k gold... Almost pure... I'm just happy that I can be wearing my wedding band again! =)

Oh ya, just done with The Help... quite a nice read but I was a teeny weeny disappointed with the ending... It sort of ended abruptly. Sigh... wish there were more~ I'm impressed by the guts of the author for writing about the town she came from... Could be quite controversial for the town's people when they read it... I suppose there are alot of truth in that book... They're gonna bring the book into the Big Screen.

Starting with The Mother's Tale... Looks like a peculiar piece yet truthful perspective of Motherhood. Some details are too disturbing for me to read on... About things a mother would imagine doing to her kid (dark thoughts)... As much as I like this sort of novels, I'll try to avoid picking up the bad behaviours... Anyway, I've just commenced... Will update when I finished the book...

I Love Singapore!

Home
Music & Lyrics: Dick Lee

Whenever I am feeling low
I look around me and I know
There’s a place that will stay within me
Wherever I may choose to go
I will always recall the city
Know every street and shore
Sail down the river which brings us life
Winding through my Singapore
Chorus:
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where that river always flows
This is home surely, as my senses tell me
This is where I won’t be alone, for this is where I know it’s home
When there are troubles to go through
We’ll find a way to start anew
There is comfort in the knowledge
That home’s about its people too
So we’ll build our dreams together
Just like we’ve done before
Just like the river which brings us life
There’ll always be Singapore
( Repeat Chorus )
For this is where I know it’s home
For this is where I know I’m home

The feeling of being home again is so wonderful. I've been away many a times during my flying days... But whenever I step into the soil of my country, I feel a rush of exuberence and sense of ease... Well, especially during this period when I miss my family and friends most... Not to mention the delicacies our little island has to offer... =)
(As I am typing this in Bangkok right now, I'm missing everyone and everything once again!)

I'm thankful for this opportunity for us to be able to stay for about 2 weeks. By the way, Tiki is officially a Singaporean now! Congratulations!! =)

A picture says a thousand words... Here's what some other stuffs we did during our visit back HOME~

Lovelies Plus 2 of Cheryl's Colleague @ Spinelli's
(A hangout where we frequent since more than 10 years ago)

Joycelin graced us with her presence~ hehe!

My Other Lovely Lady, Chloe @ Shunjuu
(Thanks for the Magazine & Strawberries)

Tiki & Calvin @ Shunjuu

Church @ Wesley

Jie Jie (Esther) and Hilda @ Coffee Club
(Hilda kept whispering secrets... Cute!)

Wrist was hurting due to a slight sprain...
(Unable to support my sudden weight gain, I suppose)

More books from Harris @ GWC
(Got a old school mate working there, so we got good discounts!)

Vegetarian Bee Hoon with Faux Goose & Faux Pork
(While waiting for Tiki to get his Citizenship procedures done, I was too hungry to wait... So I went to a coffee shop nearby for Breakfast! Yum Yum!!)

Spread at Ah Ma's House... Needless to say...
Everything is SOOOOooo Gooood!!

Finally, Us Home with Lacey
She's behaving so well during our stay... Perhaps she's worried that we'll abandon her again if she misbehaves... Sigh~

Well, needless to say I did visit some places and some people without taking pictures... =) We went over to Overeasy @ One Fullerton one of the days with a bunch of Tiki's colleague from UOB as well as Adrena and her gang... Although I'm not allowed any alcohol, I was actually impressed by the strawberry milkshake they serve! Must try their devil eggs and mini steak burgers!

Then there was the Lunch with Powerpuff gals at the Bund @ Clifford Pier~ I was craving for their XLB (xiao long bao), but due to the change in management, they did away with it! Sigh... what to do? But the company was good!

I didn't get to meet up with some family and friends... I'm sorry, time was not in my favour! But BKK isn't too far from Singapore!! Do start planning a trip here! I'll try to be a Good Host! That's if Bao Bao allows... =)

Good to be back HOME~

At BKK Airport!
I cannot wait to smell the air and taste the water in Singapore~

So we arrived yesterday, late afternoon at around 4pm. Arranged for car rental for our 2 weeks (over S$1,400) back here since we'd be doing quite abit of travelling around the island~ Got a Kia Magentis, a pretty spacious car... Good enough for awhile...

First thing we did was head over to Great World City to get some essentials and then it's to my Parents place. Good to see them after awhile and chatted about life in Bangkok and show off my baby bump~ Gave Xing Ning a Hello Kitty handbag and a pair of slippers and she kept them on the whole time!! Well, one of our main objective over my parents was.... L.A.C.E.Y!!! I had missed her so much!! It's unbelievable that we've actually parted for more than a month... Her reaction when she saw us was priceless... What i mean is the sort of warm welcome we got from her... She kept running all over the house being too excited... Licking, clinging onto me, making me touch her the whole night. She's just so adorable! I think only dog owners will understand my sentiments... And so we brought her back home, about time~ =)
My Lacey~

This afternoon, we met up with Adrena for Lunch at Jing Restaurant... (My choice!) We had several dim sum dishes, soup, lobster noodles and the reason i chose this place... My avocado with pistachio ice-cream dessert!!! It's so good, i have no words to describe it... and of cos, cos I miss it!

Heavenly~

After lunch was shopping time for BOOKS!! Well, the selection of English books in Bangkok certainly requires much improvement. So we had to get our essentials from Borders! I got a Nursery Rhymes book for Tyler and 2 novels about motherhood for myself and as for Tiki, he only got 2 cooking related books this time (No BORING economics, financial, biographies, history stuffs, I'm surprise)! I'm pretty sure we're gonna return to Borders again for more stocking-up~

Books

Dinner time at TAVERN!!! We had dinner at one of my fave french restaurant... Cheryl, Bryan, Joycelin, Tiki and Me... It's the usual catching up and Miss Cheryl Tok can't stop saying SO CUTE and talking to Tyler! haha... Glad that she recovered from food poisoning by Oysters in Phuket. Me and Tiki also gave her a present for her Birthday... A Lambskin Rug since her Nest renovation has just completed... I sure hope she'll enjoy it like i do... Here's some pictures of us at dinner! Come join us next time! =)
