Monday Very Blue~

Tiki's been so busy at work and today he's unable to have lunch or dinner with me... :(

Having said that, I should be glad that he usually tries to get home on time daily and we get to lunch together at least twice a week... But I just like to whine a little when he's not able to make it for dinner cos it really sucks having to eat by myself...

I've made some Lotus soup with pork ribs, black bean, peanuts and red dates... This soup reminds me of the Saturdays at my Grandma's... One of my fave soup!! Now I'm just waiting for him to come back after his business dinner... He's a real soup lover! haha~

As for my dinner, I've made fried macaroni with carrot, eggs and ham... I've just polished the whole big plate off... It taste so good!! (I'm secretly trying to cook again! I actually missed my own cooking! haha~)

I've packed up some stuffs for our trip back to Singapore on Tuesday night... Hopefully I won't forget anything! =) I'm so excited to see my family and friends and I'm pretty sure they'll be hoarding all over my bump... Just pray they won't laugh at how BIG I've become! hehe~

I'd probably head to K-village to get my nails done tomorrow...

Visiting the Gynae @ 29weeks

Yesterday, we arrived at BNH hospital at around 1700 and the nurse served me with a cup of Glucose. I was suppose to take my Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT)... Since pregnant women are prone to Gestation Diabetes. Dr Suvit kept assuring me that I have very low risk, but I tried to convince him that I eat alot and put on substantial weight within a short period of time... He just laughed away~ Anyway, so after I ingested the awfully sweet potion, we had to wait another half an hour before we saw Dr Suvit.

We still had a hundred and one questions for him with regards to my health issues such as the damn heartburn and baby questions... So, my heartburn medication to reduce gastro acid is called Prevacid and it cost about SGD4.50 per pill!! I was prescribed to 20~!! Unbelievably expensive~ I sure hope it works!!

Then I got my blood samples drawn for the GTT. It'll take about an hour before the results will be out. I took second shot of the Tetenus as well to complete the dosage...

I asked Dr Suvit to tell me the position of Bao Bao right now, so that I can make out his movements... Well, he's still head down with his back towards my left...

Doc kept laughing and mentioned that I'm a very knowledgeable mother and that Bao bao is going to be just fine... haha~ Think he was just trying to say that I'm very kiasu or kiasee~ hee!

While having dinner, the hospital called and reported that my blood sugar level is normal. Anything above 140 is deemed abnormal, so luckily mine was 133... =) (I can go pig-out somemore!! Hurray!!!)

Bao Bao's Heartbeat: 147bpm
My Blood Pressure: 134/72
My Heartbeat: 85bpm
My Weight: 68.5kg

Just finished my Thai lessons today with Khruu Mam.
She's quite a character... I don't understand why she likes to giggle and laugh while teaching me... Am I really that funny-looking or what? I was feeling a lil agitated and pissed... So I asked her during the previous lesson "What are you laughing at? What's so funny?" Well, of cos I didn't ask her in a crude way... Her response was... More giggling and said because I look very cute and lovely... cos I look like 18 year old!! Yah RIGHT! hee~ (I bet she's thinking of something else and definitely not because I look lovely.)

So, what I wanted to say is I don't feel comfortable with strangers touching my Baby bump... I've always been a person who needs my PRIVATE space... Then this Khruu Mam likes to touch and call out to Bao bao and then knock knock my tummy! I don't like it cos ONE, I don't know her well enough... TWO, She is trying to wake Bao Bao up from his sleep!! She'll scream, "Tyler, Tyler Yap... wake up! Wake UP!" then knock knock knock~ Urgh~!! (I honestly wanted to BOX her face...) So I told her nicely that Bao bao usually don't move with other people touching my tummy... He is Shy~ hee! Then she did the same thing again... And still no response from Bao bao... So she stop...
This is the 2nd lesson she's doing this... And I seriously don't know how to stop her...
She's a nice lady and all and I don't hate her or anything, I just don't feel good when she does that...

Prenatal Lesson 1

Went to Bumrungrad Hospital for Prenatal Lessons. They're offering free lessons in English whereas we'll need to pay at BNH (the hospital we go to). Tiki couldn't make it with me this time cos of the timing... It starts from 1700 to 1900.   There's a total of 3 lessons... every single one lands on a Tuesday.

Tiki says he'll try to make it for the next lesson.

So, today we learnt about how your body changes in the 1st Trimester, nothing that I didn't already know. But that's what the Doctor was concentrating on... Symptoms, Tests, Changes, etc... He proceeded to the different types of packages available for Delivery in Bumrungrad Hospital... Saw pictures of the different types of rooms there... Looked pretty damn nice! Almost like a 5-star Hotel~
Then he said... "Package 1 is for Sadists and those who relish PAIN!" I almost choked! hahaha... Yup, you guessed it~ Package 1 is for all Natural birth~

After the Lecture, we got bottled water, sandwiches and brownies for refreshments~ Quite tasty! I even got to bring one brownie back for Tiki~

Next up, a Physiotherapist taught us techniques to minimize discomfort during pregnancy... I've got a couple of questions for her and she showed me ways to help myself... Massages for Daddy-to-be to help soothe Mummy-to-be as well... (I'm so going to pass the techniques to Tiki!)

Cushion for Mummies & Daddies

My Favourite Daily Exercise
(I've already learnt this from a book and has been doing it- Cured my back problems! Miracle!)

Time to pump up my Kegels routine and other Prenatal exercises!
We'll see what's instore for us in the 2nd lesson~ =)

Since I had to use the Driver till late, Tiki got to walk home from work... hee~ AND buy dinner for us! How sweet of him... =)

Movie Time

Since we've arrived at Bangkok, we didn't have to chance to check out the Movie Theater until yesterday... I know I'm a little late, but I was so excited that they're still screening Toy Story 3 in 3D~ So we bought the tickets on Saturday for the Sunday afternoon show...

My First time watching a 3D Movie and First time watching  a movie in Bangkok! The seats were quite comfortable... But the drinks we bought couldn't fit into the cup holder... So I spilled half of it onto the carpet floor... Oops~ =) I don't know why, but I'm very prone to accidents in Theaters... (I remember spilling nachos, cheese, drinks, popcorn, etc... hehe~)
I killed a pin-head size cockroach gallivanting on my right hand... I wonder if it's from the seats... Got me a little paranoid and itchy all over... :S

Before the movie begins, everybody has to rise to The King's Song to pay tribute. I've never actually been to any other country's theater other than the Singapore, so it's somehow a culture shock! But interesting... I wonder if it is the same for other countries run by Monarchy...

The storyline of the movie was nice... Although not as good as I expected it to be... Initially I thought I was going to have a headache after wearing the 3D glasses for a couple of minutes... But eventually my eyes got used to it... I didn't think the 3D effects for this movie was amazing... I thought it to be the same as watching any other 2D movies... However, some of the thrillers for other movies that I saw right before the movie started had much better effects~ Made me all so excited and anticipating, just to be let down by the 3D effects of Toy Story 3.

Generally I've enjoyed the whole Movie experience in Bangkok...

Until the next showtime~ ;)

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

I happened to spot TWO Rainbows on Tuesday evening over the Sky of Bangkok...

This isn't my first time having the opportunity to witness such a special sight...
The first time I saw 2 sets of rainbow was a few years ago... I was so amazed by the view!

Anyway, I was just as excited during on my 2nd sighting... I mean what are the chances of being able to witness 2 sets of rainbows at the same moment TWICE in a lifetime... It's just breathtaking...

I had the luxury of sitting in the car and admiring the scene while travelling over the highway... I feel so relaxed and joyful just staring at them... Nature's Wonder... Beautiful~!

Some pics I took...

Bao Bao at 28 weeks!

Today marks the beginning of my Final trimester in pregnancy...

I'm still having heartburn problems, usually more seriously, around 1am to 2am in the morning... Another reason for losing sleep. It'll last for at least an hour. During the day, I'll experience it on and off... I've tried not to overeat and avoiding chocolates and spicy food... But it didn't really work. So I'll just try to endure... Another problem I've developed is my knees... I'm not sure if it is due to rapid weight gain... It hurts when I try to stand up from sitting or squating down. Body temperature is sky rocketing as well... I feel so HOT most times and have been sleeping without covers... Poor Tiki, he always feel so cold cos I'm don't allow him to tamper with the airconditioning. At least I've stopped stealing away his part of the covers~ Feeling more and more like Humpty Dumpty... =) Round Round, Butterfingers, wobbly feet and probably starting to waddle a lil... Current weight is around 68kg, 14kg weight gain.

Bao bao is 28 weeks old!! He is constantly nudging me from inside... Especially on the extreme right-side of my belly. I still cannot figure out which part of his body he's using to nudge me... Tiki thinks it's his feet. He does it all the time when I sleep on my right until I had to change side and also after my breakfast and lunch... (Technically, sleeping on the left-side is better for both of us... so he might be doing us good). He's "dancing" to 周杰倫 - 止战之殇 right now... haha~ My tummy looks like waves from the outside as if it's having a party... =D

We are very much looking forward to seeing Bao bao. Tiki kept saying he can't wait!! haha...

Tiki Parents' 2nd Visit

PIL arrived on Friday, 27th August, 2010 afternoon... They brought along a Huge luggage of stuffs for Bao bao... Some hand-me-downs from Tiki's sisters as well as a Avent Warmer and a Avent Steamer! Save some bucks! hehe~ THANK YOU!!!

Luggage full of Hand-Me-Downs
Rompers, Tops, Bottoms, Socks, Baby Blankets, etc...
As usual, we went around having lots of good food! We went to China House, Somboon, Secret Garden, Yen Taw Fu, King's Palace, etc... Not forgetting Tiki's dad favourite Goose Rice and Food Court! hehe~ He really loves Food in Bangkok!

Over the weekend, we visited the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew... Foreigners were suppose to pay an entrance fee of about 250Baht each, and Thais get in for Free! We got mistaken as Locals, so we got in without paying a single cent! hee~ The place was very colourful and beautiful~ I like the temple where the Emerald Buddha resides... And also there were also several musuems showcasing items of the past... Very interesting but too bad photography wasn't allowed.

On Sunday, we celebrated MIL's Birthday at Secret Garden... although her Bday is suppose to be on the 5th of Sept. We got the crew to sing Birthday song... She seemed pretty happy about it! hehe~ Surprise!! =)

As a gift, we bought her a pair of Fitflops. She was commenting on my pair, so I decided that it will be perfect for her! I sure hope she'll enjoy it like me!
PIL and me went to Chinatown to check out the herbs and ingredients I might need during confinement period. Surprisingly the chinese there can speak some Mandarin, Teochew and Cantonese... The shops there are really old but looks trustworthy enough. We'll want to try some of the restaurants there one day...

The next time they'll be visiting will be to see their Grandson!

My Mummy's Birthday is on the 30th August, but we couldn't be there to celebrate with her so I sent her some flowers and a mango cake! She mentioned how Xingning was saying those will be her Wedding Flowers! hahaha~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY, I LOVE YOU~!
